about us
What is ROC?
Welcome to ROC at Rutgers.Church. We are a Middlesex County non-denominational Christian congregation. Located right in the heart of the main Rutgers University campus. We meet Sundays 12 Noon to 1:15PM at 100 College Ave in New Brunswick. FREE brunch starts 11:30AM.
EVERY SUNDAY after service we have a FREE catered lunch from Jersey Mikes Subs, or from the best pizza joint in town. it’s great food, and a fun way to meet and mingle with new friends. 🙂
We attract a lot of Rutgers college students, but we are also a mult-generational church where people of all ages and backgrounds attend. ROC seeks to compassionately share Jesus and His love with college students and all those in the Rutgers community including New Brunswick, Piscataway, North Brunswick, Somerset, Franklin, East Brunswick and Edison.
How To Get Here
WALK, Take The Bus or Drive
Well, if you’re a Rutgers Student, no need to drive cause there are 2 Bus Stops within seconds of ROC: the 126 College Ave Student Center bus stop, and the bus stop at THE YARD. Both are located on the same side of the street as our place at 100 College Ave.Â
However, if you want to drive or are coming from another area, there is close, free Sunday parking at a number of places:
-On the street parking directly in front of our place at 100 College Ave. Note: You are allowed to park in the RED bus lanes on Sunday!)
-Directly behind the College Ave Student Center in Lot 30 (see map). You can access this parking lot from Sicard St.
Note: If parking behind the College Center, simply walk up Morrell St and hang a right onto College Ave. Seconds down the way on the right, you’ll see a tall white church at 100 College Avenue with ROC signs all over. Don’t go up the steps to that church, but follow the signs through the left side gate entrance where friendly greeters will be awaiting you. Our location is behind the church. Just enter the side door, and pop up to enjoy our service.
What to Expect
When you get to our awesome location a greeter will give you a name tag. We are informal and friendly. People will be mingling around, and you will have an opportunity to chat and grab some free brunch as you enter our worship experience. Besides the relevant messages each week, I think you’ll enjoy our contemporary Christian worship band too. Â
Finally, we want you to know that you are safe here. We know when checking out a new congregation folks can feel a little out of place, and maybe even a little nervous. No need here. We’re a laid back bunch and real friendly, so you will fit right in here. 🙂 If you are interested in knowing what our church believes theologically, please go here.
